On January 18th, 2025, the prestigious International French Spell Bee (IFSB) concluded its 12th edition at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Organized by Le Frehindi, this grand event witnessed some of the brightest young minds competing at the highest level, showcasing their mastery of the French language. The culmination of months of rigorous preparation, the finals celebrated excellence, resilience, and the joy of linguistic learning.
A Journey of Dedication & Tough Competition
The path to victory was not easy. The students battled through multiple rounds of increasing difficulty, proving their expertise and unwavering determination:
- Preliminary Round: Tested foundational knowledge of French through an audio-based spelling test.
- Secondary Round: A dynamic on-stage competition featuring spelling challenges, description-based questions, image recognition, and jumbled word puzzles.
- Final Round: The most intense stage, where only the top three finalists per category competed for ultimate glory. A special buzzer-based crossword challenge was introduced this year to determine the final positions, making the battle even more exhilarating.
